Granbury is a city situated in Hood County in Texas. The city is also the county seat of Hood County. The city was named after Confederate General Hiram B. Granberry. People believe that the name of the town is Granbury because it was misspelled, but some of the most recent findings that the general chose to call the town Granbury. Granbury’s total population is 7,978 as of the 2010 census. The city has a total area of 16.913 square miles, 0.608 square miles of it is water. The Granbury Independent School District distributes the public’s education system in the town.
