Guy is an unincorporated community in Fort Bend County. It is located at the junction of SH 36 and FM 1994. It was first settled in 1890 but it wasn’t until 1989 when the community was granted a post office, under the name of Guy. The community was named after Una Guy Rowland, daughter of the first postmaster. The town was barely developing when the Galveston Hurricane of 1900 caused tremendous damage to the community. In 1918, a railway was built; businesses and the school moved into the area, making the former townsite as the Old Guy and the new one as Guy. The residents of Guy worked at the nearby Damon Mound salt dome and by 1940, the population of the community had grown to 200. In the 1980s, the railroad service was ceased and in the following decade, Guy had a trucking firm, a convenience store, a new post office, and a tavern-cafe. As of 2014, its population was 239.
