Haltom City is a city in Tarrant County and is part of the Dallas-Forth Worth Metroplex. It is one of the largest suburbs of Fort Worth and is almost entirely surrounded by North Richland Hills, Watauga, and Richland Hills. Haltom City was established in 1932, when defense plants for WWII was developed. In 1949, the city was incorporated, and by the mid-1960s, the town had 32,100 residents. Although there was a slight decrease in its population towards the next decade, Haltom City had a total of thirty-five factories that includes the production of clothing, plastics, fiberglass, and sheet-metal products. In 1990, the city almost doubled the number of its businesses; it had a total of sixty manufacturing plants. As of 2010, its population was 42,409.
