Hico is a small town located in Hamilton County, Texas. This town has a motto. “Where Everybody is Somebody!”. Hico was founded in 1856, and as of 2010 census, it has a population of 1,379. The town has gotten the name from the founder’s unorganized hometown in Calloway County. The city changed its indigenous location after the Texas Central Line was built close by. The natives moved 2.5 miles to the rails. This town became a Hamilton shipping center after the town was incorporated in 1883. And after a period of time, the town became a cotton and cattle market.
