Hobson is an unincorporated coterie located in Karnes County in Texas. The Handbook of Texas stated that the community’s population was 135 as of the year 2000. Uranium Energy Corp is operating a Hobson uranium processing plant in the area. The community was granted a post office in 1898, and when Capt. Robert Pearson Hobson had a speech at the depo, the town was named for him, who was a war hero in the Spanish-American war in 1899. The community had a bit of a change in population over the years but it endured over a hundred. The highest population of the coterie was 175 residents in the 1950s.
