Hockley is an unorganized group that is located in Harris County, Texas. The city was founded in 1835. By George Washington Hockley. As a salt mound was found near Hockley and has been used for mining salt. The community is the core of railway transport for Austin, Houston, and many other parts of Central Texas. The population of this town is 15,246 as of the 2010 census. Some of the known attractions of this town are Zube Park and Garden, and Lone Star Pinball Museum. Large company Hewlett-Packard bought 97 acres of land close to Hockley in 2008 that was planned by John Beeson for a 389-acre industrial park.
