Holland is a town located in Bell County in Texas. At the 2010 census, the population of Holland was 1,121. The town’s history dates back to before the Civil War. A community by the name of Mountain Home was established and started growing, the community’s post office was built on August 22 1870 under that name. It was closed just one year after that. The construction of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad in 1881 is what brought back the community, and it was named Holland ever since. James Reuben Holland was the reason behind town’s namesake. The town’s public education system is being distributed by the Holland Independent School District.
