Hondo is a city that is also a county seat of Medina County, Texas. The town was established way back in the late 17th century. The town’s population was 8,803 at the 2010 census. The town is a part of the San Antonio Area. Native occupants of this area were independent Native Americans who settled in the Rio Grande Valley. 40 years after Columbus discovered the New World, the first Spaniard to investigate the place was Cabeza de Vaca. Hondo was firstly settled in 1881. And then incorporated in 1942. The Newton Gang, most successful fugitives in the U.S history, robbed two banks in one night during the early 1920s.
