Hitmaker Brewing Company

Craft Brewery in Austin - 22.12 mi

Brian Hyde, Marcos Canchola, Joe Holifield, and Chris Fish released Hitmaker Brewing Company’s first beer, an IPA, only in mid-May 2018. The brewery and its founders, however, are far from being newbies to the business of craft beers. Joe, head brewer and the “creative force” behind their beers, has over a decade of homebrewing experience. He also attended Siebel Institute in Chicago. Meanwhile, the other founders own or co-own several bars and restaurants around Austin. The list includes MugShots, Pour House Pints & Pies, The Hideout Pub, Pour House Pub, Bender Bar & Grill, and Violet Crown Social Club. The brewery’s taproom opened about a year after the release of its first beer. Since then they’ve lined up about 10 beers including a coconut porter and a Kolsch. The taproom is open from Thursdays to Sundays.

Infamous Brewing

Craft Brewery in Austin - 23.21 mi

Providing great handmade craft beer in small batches, Infamous Brewing in Austin was founded by a group of people who shared “passion for quality beer.” The team hails from a diverse background spanning multiple industries who have settled in ATX from other parts of Texas and from both the East and West Coasts. They were drawn to the craft and the excitement of the “ever-growing craft beer scene in Austin.” At Infamous Brewing, you can enjoy samples of handmade craft beers, such as “cream ales, IPAs & peanut-butter stouts,” before heading home with a shirt & pint glass. Come take a look! It's pretty cool what a few dudes, nine months and a bunch of beer can do.

Whitestone Brewery

Craft Brewery in Cedar Park - 23.93 mi

Ryan Anglen’s day job is in the software industry but he had a chance to turn a hobby into a business. With the help of another Texan whom he hired as head brewer, Ryan and his wife Danielle established Whitestone Brewery in January 2016. Whitestone Brewery currently has about 5 or 6 beers on tap year round with seasonal offerings all throughout the year. They distribute 6-pack cans in groceries and liquor stores or find them in over 200 bars and restaurants in Austin. Join their Pub Club ($100 for the first year and $50 thereafter) to get exclusive merchandise and party privileges. Van's Damn Tasty Tacos & Ronburguesas is on standby daily if you’re hungry. There’s also a selection of wines, mead, ciders, and soda for those looking for an alternative to their beers.

Texas Beer Company

Craft Brewery in Taylor - 24.07 mi

Texas Beer Company is one of those success stories that really took off because of the community. Founded by J.D. Gins and Ian Davis, this Taylor-based brewery counts a gold medal win at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival for their Pecos Amber Lager among their many achievements. Both have J.D.’s ex-girlfriend to thank for J.D.’s first homebrewing kit, which prompted his passion for brewing. J.D. is the company’s brewmaster. The two friends were community organizers who met during Obama’s presidential campaign. Launched in May 2016, the brewery came to be with support from various sectors. Prior to launch, they got a leg up when Davis’ friend bought the building they’re located in. Meanwhile, the two were conducting tastings rent-free and getting valuable inputs from locals. With economic development incentives from the city council, a successful initial funding campaign, and a follow-up fund campaign for expansion, the brewery continues to benefit from the support of the community it serves.
