Hye is situated in Western Blanco County, Texas. It is an unincorporated coterie. It is located along Route 290, west of Johnson City, which is the county seat of this area. The elevation of the city is around 1,400ft. Even though the city is incorporated, it has a post office. The Rocky Creek area of this county was settled by Hiram G. Brown and his parents. Hiram G. Brown went by the nickname of “Hye”. He was chosen as a postmaster in this area after establishing the post office in his store. The post office had gotten its name from him. This drew other types of occupations in this area.
