Itasca is a city situated in Hill County, Texas. The city’s population was 1,644 at the 2010 census. Itasca was originally a railroad station for Kansas, Missouri, and Texas railroad in 1881. The city was incorporated in 1885. The city has a motto: “The Little Big Town”. Some of the famous parks in Itasca are Veterans Memorial Park, Heritage Community Park, and the restored Itasca Depot. By the state of the U.S Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 square miles, all of it is land. The city’s educational system is distributed by its own Independent School District, this district has 3 schools. Itasca Elementary School, Itasca Middle School, and Itasca High School.
