Kemah is a city located in Galveston County in Texas. The city is situated along west Galveston Bay. The population was 1,773 as stated by the 2010 census. The population decreased from 2,330 at the 2000 census. At first, this was a small fishing town, but the area has breathtaking attractions and many good restaurants. Some of the best tourist attractions this town has are Kemah Boardwalk, Johnson Space Center, and Armand Bayou Nature Center. The land, that is now called Kemah, was granted to one of the first settlers who was a stock raiser. Michael Gouldrich was given the land on August 24, 1824.
