Kinwood is an unincorporated coterie located in Harris County in Texas. Kinwood is located four miles south of Humble. The community used to be called Kenwood, but when the postmaster noticed there was another community called Kenwood, he changed it to what it is today. The community’s post office opened in 1945. Three years later, the population of the town counted up to 156 residents. Kinwood is distributed by the Aldine Independent School District. They include MacArthur High School, Hambrick Middle School, Escamilla Intermediate School, and Johnson Elementary School. The community itself is placed across Southern Pacific Railroad and U.S Route 59.
