Kirvin is a town located in Freestone County in Texas. As of the 2010 census, the town’s population was 129. The town’s name came from Judge O.C. Kirvin. He donated the land for the Trinity and Brazos railroad in 1905. Kirvin was granted a post office in 1907. The town has gained its incorporation in 1911. Three years later, the town had a zenith of the population with an estimate of 800 people. But, since then, the town’s population has been in downfall. In the 1920s there were less than 300 citizens, while it’s now just over a hundred residents.
