Knott is an unincorporated coterie located in Howard County in Texas. Knott and its border West Knott were named after Calvin Stevenson Knott who was one of the first fortifiers around this area. Watermelons used to be the best source of income in these lands, but cotton has taken over and is now ascendant. The town’s population was at its peak in the 1960s at 685. The number of the population has been used ever since then. The community has a semi-arid or steppe climate. Knott is located northwest of Big Spring which is the county seat of Howard County.
