La Blanca is a CDP located in Hidalgo County in Texas. At the 2010 census, the population of the town was 2,488. The town’s gained its name from La Blanca Ranch, which goes back to Spanish colonists. The lands became a town when a railroad was being built in 1908. By 1927. The town had its own post office and was a station stop on Texas and New Orleans Railroad. The town has had a massive growth in population, numbering only 150 in 1990. It has since then grown to its present number. As stated by the U.S Bureau, the town has a total area of 4.2 square miles.
