Lake Creek is an unincorporated coterie located in Delta County in Texas. Lake Creek’s public educational system is distributed by The Chisum Independent School District. Lake Creek’s earliest settlement was in March 1948, by George W. Cox. The name of the community used to be Odd’s Creek and John Wood was its postmaster. The post office closed after just six months. In 1885. The post office reopened and went under the name Lake Creek. The community’s population was 200 at the start and it was at its zenith back then. Since then the population has decreased and as of the year 2000, it was an estimate of around sixty residents.
