Laneville is an unincorporated coterie located in south Rusk County in Texas. The junction of “four lanes” is why the town has gotten its name. Today FM 225 and FM 1798 make the “four lanes”. The town was granted a post office in 1888. The community’s educational system is distributed by its own Independent School District. The town’s estimated population is 200. It is unchanged from the 1950s. The community’s location is just twelve miles south of Rusk County’s seat, Henderson. The community’s zenith of the population was around 320 residents. The “big event” of the community was in the 1950s, the town was included on Rusk County’s list of 14 post offices.
