Leander is a city located in both Williamson and Travis counties in Texas. At the 2010 census, the town’s population was 26,521, but it has grown immensely since then and has an estimated population of 56,111 as of 2018. The town was established in 1852. The town was named after Leander “Catfish” Brown, who was one of the railroad officials. The U.S Bureau states that the city has a total area of 34.8 square miles, all of it being water. Some of the top sights in Leander are Brushy Creek Regional Trail, Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, Sandy Creek Park, and Cedar Bark Park.
