Levelland is a city located in Hockley County in Texas. The town’s population was 13,542 as of the 2010 census. Levelland is the county seat of Hockley County. The city was established in 1921. And it was elected as the county seat right after. J.M. Fleming established the store in 1921. And sold the store the same year to T.W. Bowers. B.E. Gunn, who was a school teacher and the community’s first postmaster. The city has a total area of 10.2 square miles according to the U.S Bureau, and only 0.004 square miles of it is water. The city itself is provided by its own Independent School District.
