Lincoln is an unincorporated coterie located in Lee County in Texas. Evergreen used to be the name of the community, it was also the name of the hometown Bill Longley, who was an American Old West gunfighter. It was later changed because of John A. Lincoln who was a local and a preacher. By the 1890s the town had a cotton gin, grist mill, and a sawmill which were some of the basics for a starter town. The community itself is located just north of Giddins, which is the county seat of Lee County. The town’s population is around 276.
