Linden is a city located in Cass County in Texas. It is also its county seat. The town’s population was 1988 as of the 2010 census. Linden is distributed by Linden-Kildare Independent School District. Linden is located just fourteen miles southwest of Atlanta. The post office was granted in 1852. The town’s name is reportedly from Linden in Tennessee. By 1885, the town had around three hundred residents and became a center for a growing lumber industry by the 1890s. The U.S Bureau states that the city has a total area of 3.5 square miles with all of it being land.
