Lissie is an unincorporated coterie located in Wharton County in Texas. The community is located beside U.S Highway 90A. As of the 2000 census the town’s population was an estimate of 49 residents. Even though Lissie is unincorporated, the community has its own post office. The town’s public educational system is provided by the East Bernard Independent School District. The community is located just northwest of Wharton which is the county seat of Wharton County. The post office of the community opened in 1878. The community used to be called New Philadelphia. The area suffered a fire in 1891. And the post office was closed then.
