Gordon Street Tavern

Located at a building dated back from the 1880s, the tavern is open daily but hours vary so check their website for details. It is part of the same group that runs the Barbed Rose in Alvin. Bakfish Brewing Company

Craft Brewery in Pearland - 17.50 mi

Bakfish Brewing Company has a distinction that no one can ever take away -- Pearland’s first craft brewery and brewpub. Established by friends Brian Allen and Kris Szecsy, they quit their jobs to establish the brewery in 2016. Houston metro area’s third largest city was somewhat of a “beer desert” because it had no local brewery of its own prior to its opening. With a 2,000 square foot air-conditioned taproom and a large covered patio, the brewery accommodates seating for about 300. There are five flagship brews including I Tell You Wit (a Belgian wit bier), Golden Ale (a blond ale), and Defying Gravity double IPA, with rotating seasonal and small batch releases at the taproom. The brewery does not serve food but has scheduled rotating food trucks onsite. Guests can also have food delivered or bring their own at the family- and dog-friendly brewpub.

Saloon Door Brewing Co

Craft Brewery in Webster - 18.69 mi

Established in 2016, Saloon Door Brewing Company is the creator of several popular and critically acclaimed brews including “Tasty AF Peanut Butter & Chocolate Milk Stout, I Must Break You Russian Imperial Stout, Panhandler Pale Ale and many others.” They make their craft beer in house with a 10-barrel system using only the finest ingredients available. They also focus on sustainable sourcing, using local vendors, and making maximum efforts to keep carbon footprint at an absolute minimum. Vallenson’s Brewing Company

Vallenson's Brewing Company is a bit tucked away and surrounded by warehouses. This is "a great little spot for a good beer!" It is an "excellent little 3-barrel brewery with comfortable inside and outside seating areas". Galveston Bay Beer Company

Established in 2014, the Galveston Bay Beer Company is Galveston County’s largest brewery. At the time, it was also one of the first in the area. The interesting thing about the brewery besides its beers is its commitment to preserving Galveston County’s rich beer brewing history, which dates back to 1895. The company has artifacts related to the craft of beer brewing from the past 120 years. Their air-conditioned taproom at Dickinson is open daily. With at least 12 beers to choose from, some are exclusive to the taproom only. Opened in 2016, they “specialize in lighter style beers but dark beer fans can enjoy the Bull Shark, their Scottish ale". A blogger advises readers to ask their bartenders about “High Grade” and the beer's interesting backstory during the prohibition era.

Fetching Lab Brewery

The owners of Fetching Lab Brewery are Brett Bray and Theresa Hutchings, but everyone knows that Bella is both mascot and CEO. Brett was a real-life NASA scientist while Theresa worked as quality assurance lead at one of world’s largest airplane manufacturers. According to Brett and Theresa, we can’t show Bella a ball or she’ll ask you to play “fetch” the whole day long. You see, Bella’s a Yellow Lab, and pretty much runs the whole place. She even gets to choose the pooch that’s featured in Fetching Lab’s lineup of delicious beers. Fetching Lab first started creating their beers in Alvin, Texas and sold their first kegs in 2015. In late December 2018, however, they expanded operations and have their own taproom in Texas City. They currently create five year-round “full production brews” that are available in other taprooms and four seasonal offerings. These are available only at their taproom or in limited quantities.
