Lone Star is a city situated in Morris County in Texas. The town’s population was 1,581 as of the 2010 census. The townsite is said to be settled around the Civil War, but a community was not established all until the 1930s. Lone Star Steel established a steel mill in the area which is how the city had gotten its name. Lone Star was incorporated in the mid-1950s. Back then, the town’s population was 1,131. The population was at its peak in the 1980s with more than two thousand residents. The city’s total area is exactly 2 square miles according to the U.S Bureau, just 0.5% is water.
