Lovelady is a town located in Houston County in Texas. As of the 2010 census, the population of the town was 649. The town was founded by the investors of the Houston & Great Northern Railroad as the railroad was passing through the area. The land itself was granted by Cyrus Lovelady which is why it is named this way. The post office opened on the eighth of November 1872 and was progressing slowly. The town’s post office was granted in 1927. The public education system is being distributed by the Lovelady Independent School District. The town’s total area is 1.3 square miles as the U.S Bureau states.
