Luling is a city situated in both Guadalupe and Caldwell counties in Texas. The city’s population was 5,411 at the 2010 census. Charles Luling is the reason behind Luling’s name. Luling was a New York banker who also provided financial support for the railroad near the town. The city was founded in 1874. Edgar B. Davis discovering oil in the area was one of the most important events in the city’s history. The city’s total area is 5.5 square miles according to the U.S Bureau. The public education system is distributed to the city by its own Independent School District.
