Lumberton is a city located in Hardin County in Texas. The city’s population was 11,943 as of the 2010 census. The town was founded as a stop on the Gulf, Beaumont and Kansas City Railway, that was being built in the area in 1894. The town was granted a post office in 1909. The city was incorporated in 1973. Some of the top tourist attractions in Lumberton are Village Creek State Park, Lumberton Community Park, and Roy E. Larsen Sandyland Sanctuary. The town’s total area is 13.4 square miles according to the U.S Bureau. The public education system of the city is being distributed by the Lumberton Independent School District.
