Mabank is a city located in both Henderson and Kaufman counties in Texas. As of the 2010 census, the town’s population was 3,035 residents. It has risen from 2,151 at the 2000 census. The community of Lawndale was located where Mabank now is before the city’s existence. The community was formed in the late 1880s and Mabank was established in the early 1900s. The town was named after a combination of two names: Eubank and Mason and was located around a mile southwest of the former coterie, Lawndale. The total area of the city is 7.2 square miles, with half of a percent being water.
