Mansfield city is found in Tarrant County with some of its parts in Johnson County and Ellis County in the US state of Texas. Ralph S. Man and Julian B. Feild moved to this area around 1857 and established the first steam-powered gristmill and a sawmill. The city was later named after the two. Its original name was Mansfield before it changed to Mansfield. In 1860, Julian Feild, who operated a general store, became the first postmaster in this area. Later in 1869, John Collier established Mansfield Male and Female College. Mansfield city was incorporated in 1909 and remained the central farming region.
