Maple is a U.S. unincorporated community in Bailey County in the state of Texas. The town sits along Farm Road 596. The area is named after Maple Wilson, who was an early settler in this place. The establishment of this community was a result of the subdivision of ranches into farms to encourage settlement and urbanization. The first post office was founded in this area in 1926. By 1940, this area had established a school and six businesses. By 1980, the population in this area had declined, but the community retained its post office. Despite being unincorporated, Maple has a post office.
