Marlin is a city located at the junction of State Highway 6 and State Highway 7 in the county of Falls in Texas, US. Marlin city got its nickname “the Hot Mineral Water City of Texas” in 1892 when mineral water was discovered here. The state legislature officially incorporated Marlin on 12th January 1867. At the census of 2000, the city had a population of 6,628 which later decreased by 10 percent in 2010. It is found four miles on the eastern side of the Bravos River. The first schools to be established in Marlin were private. In 1923, the Marlin Independent School District was formed. It is served by the Marlin Municipal Airport which is situated four miles from the center Marlin.
