The U.S. unincorporated community of McAdoo is located at the intersection of Farm road 193 and Farm Road 264 in Dickens County in the state of Texas. The community is named after William Gibbs McAdoo. Gibbs was a former Secretary of Treasury and son in law to U.S. president Woodrow Wilson. Marshall Formby, who was an attorney, politician, and journalist in Texas, grew up in Texas. McAdoo was laid to rest at the McAdoo cemetery. Clint Formby maintained the record in a radio broadcast. Clint singly aired the longest operating radio broadcast. A post office was established in this area in 1915.
