McLeod is an unincorporated community at Farm Road 125 in Cass County in the US state of Texas. The first post office was established in this area in 1937. By 1939, McLeod hosted a school, churches, and two businesses. The community sits near the Rodessa oilfield. The area was initially known as Good Exchange. The name changed in the 1930s when this Rodessa oil field was established. The oilfield majorly contributed to the development of this community. TxDOT maps still retain the title Good Exchange for the community’s cemetery. The population in this area declined in some years and further stagnated to date.
