The unincorporated community of McQueeney is located along the Farm Road 78 in Guadalupe County in Texas State. The first German Settlers moved to this community in the 1870s. In 1876, a railway was constructed through McQueeney. The railway stop was referred to as Hilda. C. F Blumberg established a store a mile East of Hilda. Blumberg called this establishment McQueeney after the Southern Pacific Line superintendent in an attempt to change the location of the stop. However, the railroad was not moved to this area, as Blumberg had anticipated. In 1900, a post office was established under the name McQueeney.
