Meyersville is an unincorporated coterie situated in DeWitt County in Texas. Adolph Meyer first settled in the area in 1846, he named the area after himself. The community was originally established by Germans. The town’s post office was built in 1851. There was an influx of Polish immigrants that arrived in the 1850s. There are no population numbers in the earliest years of the community, but we know that the town had between 200-250 people between the 1880s and the 1920s. The town’s population as of the 2000 census estimates 110 residents. The town’s public education system is being provided by the Meyersville Independent School District.
