The town of Mineral Wells lies at the junction of State highways 180 and 281. The town is situated in both Palo and Parker counties in Texas. As of the year 2010, the town’s population was 16,788. More than fourteen thousand residents in Palo County and just over two thousand in Paker County. The town’s peak population was in the 1970s with more than eighteen thousand residents living in the city. The city of Mineral Wells was named after its own mineral springs who were very popular in the 1900s. The town’s public education system is being served by the Mineral Wells Independent School District.
