Mont Belvieu is a city located in both Chambers and Liberty counties in Texas. The town’s population increased 65% from the 2000 census when there were 2,324, to the 2010 census when there were 3,835 registered citizens in Mont Belvieu. One of the town’s first settlers were Henry Griffith and his wife Amelia Barrow. Henry used to be a cattle rancher, and at one point in the town’s development, Mont Belvieu was pasture land for their cattle. Most of the town’s public education system is being distributed by the Barbers Hill Independent School District. The town’s total area is 15.3 square miles.
