Located in eastern Bowie County, the town was founded in 1873 and had changed its name twice, from T. C. Junction to Park to Nash. It was named T. C. Junction due to its location on the Transcontinental Division of Texas & Pacific Railroad but was changed to Park after Dr J. N. Parker, the first postmaster. Nash was suggested in honor of Martin Manny Nash, division superintendent of Texas & Pacific. In 1980 most of the town’s residents were employed in either Texarkana or at a military installation located a few miles west of the town. As of 2000, the population was 2,169.
