Poolville was named for an existing body of water just east of the present site. This unincorporated community in Parker County, Texas, was founded in the early 1880s. Its post office with a zip code of 76487 was opened in 1883. Poolville is situated along Farm Road 920, about seventeen miles northwest of Weatherford, the county seat. Specifically, Poolville is at the junction of Farm roads 3107 and 920, eighteen miles northwest of Weatherford in northwest Parker County. The population was 2,507 in 2010. Also, Orville Bullington, a Wichita Falls attorney and the 1932 Republican gubernatorial nominee against Miriam Ferguson, was raised in Poolville.
