Randolph is located eight miles southwest of Bonham in Fannin County. The first settlers came during the late 1830s and established a town named Lindsey School House for Thomas Lindsay who donated land. The railroad appeared in 1887 and a new town grew alongside the rails and was named for Judge Tom Randolph of Sherman. In that same year, a post office was granted that same year. Rail traffic declined in the late 1940s which affected businesses also. The population was down to 125 by the mid-1960s and down further to a mere 70 by 1980 which is the same figure being used for the 2010 Census.
