Reklaw is a city in Rusk and Cherokee Counties that sits at the intersection of State Highway 204 and U.S Highway 84. The place received its first settlers during the discovery of an Iron Mountain. Before the Civil War, the site had established several sawmills. The city was not built until 1902. The construction of the Texas and New Orleans railway through the city led to its establishment. The townsite was laid on the land owned by Margaret Walker. During the naming of the city, the name Walker was already in use forcing the city's name to be spelled backward.
