The U.S unincorporated community of Rio Medina is located at Farm Road 471, Medina County, Texas. It is named after the Medina River. In 1900, Armin Boehm operated a saloon in this area. The saloon was the first business to be established in Rio Medina. In 1908, Boehm’s son constructed a gin in this place. Alexander also established a general store in Boehm’s saloon. Also, in 1908, a post office was established with Alexander Boehm as a postmaster. Frank Burell founded the second saloon in Rio Medina. In 1983, the general store opened by Alexander was transformed into a warehouse.
