Rio Vista is a city that lies along Highway 174 in Johnson County in the US state of Texas. The city’s original name was Grange Hall and Kimbell. In 1881, the Railway was constructed through the area, leading to the establishment of this town. In 1884, new residents moved to this site. The city had established schools, churches, a meat market, and a bank by 1900. The establishment of a post office and an ample water supply majorly contributed to the development of this city. In 1969, this area established a new post office. The city mainly flourished in agriculture.
