Roby City is located at the intersection of State Highway 70 and U.S Highway 180 in Fisher County, Texas, United States. In 1886, Roby post office was founded in this city. In the same year, the first school was established and workers set on the construction of a courthouse. The city had established general stores, churches, a weekly newspaper, and a hotel by 1890. In 1892, a jail made of stone was erected in this area. The Roby and Northern Railway was constructed in this area in 1915. In the same year, Roby was incorporated. Later in 1942, the railroad was abandoned.
