Rocksprings is a U.S town located in Edwards County at the intersection of State Highway 55 and U.S Highway 37 in the US state of Texas. The site was established in 1891 by J. R Sweeten. The presence of natural springs in this area led to its establishment. The town founded its first post office in 1891 and was also made the County Seat. By 1892, the townsite had two saloons, a general store and a hotel. In the early days, the name of this town was written as two words but in 1897, the name changed after a courthouse burned down.
