Bull Creek Brewing Company

Craft Brewery in Liberty Hill - 17.79 mi

Established in 2011 and open to the public in 2015, husband and wife team Greg and Julia Parma own and manage Bull Creek Brewing Company. In a reversal of roles, Julia retains the title of headbrewer although it’s Greg who comes up with the recipes. Julia works full time at the brewery and taproom and manages the actual brewing, bottling, and selling of their beers. Meanwhile, Greg’s job as a full time financial analyst keeps him away from the brewery most times. That puts Julia in a class of her own. The brewery is Liberty Hill’s (and Williamson County’s) first production brewery. There’s a patio with outdoor seating, and the brewery opens from Fridays to Sundays. The large open space surrounding the brewery's metal building makes it a great space for kids and pets. The brewery offers a Secret Sipper Society membership that gives members certain privileges at the brewery.

Hi Sign Brewing

Craft Brewery in Austin - 19.45 mi

Hi Sign Brewing takes its name from Hi Sign Road in Lincoln, Montana. The name stuck because Marine Corps veteran Mark Phillippe, the brewery’s founder, spent time with his Dad in a little cabin off Hi Sign Road. It was there that he developed his love for craft beers. After his military stint, Mark found himself searching for his next path. Two mentors, both also in the beverage industry, convinced him to pursue his dream of building his own brewery. The brewery opened in 2017 with Andrew Shelton as head brewer. Andrew brings an extensive brewing background including stints at Texas and Florida breweries. Located in a 6,600 square feet warehouse and situated in a one-acre lot, the airy taproom has ample space for special events. While at the brewery, try the blond ale with “the perfect subtle amount of blueberry” Violet the Blueberry Blonde (5.1% ABV). It’s their bestseller. Thirsty Planet Brewing Co

Craft Brewery in Austin - 23.81 mi

There’s nothing random about Thirsty Planet Brewing Company’s methods when it comes to brewing great craft beers. Everything has a purpose. For example, they started back in 2010 with just ales, which take less time than lagers. They donate tips gathered at their tasting room to charities, and sponsor several local charities whenever possible, including the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund. Local artists get traction and support through their Brite Tank and Event Brite initiatives. They donate spent grains to local farmers, and recycle paper, cardboard, and glass products, too. Business decisions are purposeful, too. They celebrated their seventh year with the launch of Buckethead IPA sold in a special 7-pack beer. Of course, these came in a bucket shaped container. Watch out for the brewery’s taproom reopening. They closed the old one to concentrate on production and distribution, boosting their capacity and making them available on store shelves.
