Sabine Pass is a neighborhood in Port Arthur, Texas. It has its own school district, post office, water district, and port authority. It was established in 1832 by Thomas Corts. It played a big role in the Civil War and it was the spot of two major battles. The neighborhood is known for its wildlife. Sea Rim State Park and McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge lie at the end of Highway 87. The two provide excellent wildlife and especially bird watching venues. It’s also a popular place to camp on the Gulf of Mexico beach.
