Sanford is a town in Hutchinson County, Texas, United States. The city has a population of 164 at the census of 2010. The median income for the town is about $29.000 per family and there are about 80 households in Sanford. The town was founded by a cowboy called James Sanford who was the owner of the oil-rich ranch on which the city grew over time. Most boomtowns didn’t survive WW2 and the Great Depression but Sanford never lost its population over the years.
