Scurry is a town in Kaufman County, Texas, United States. It was incorporated in 2003 and in 2010 it had a population of about 680. The first settlers established a community in what’s now Scurry in the mid-1840s. The railroad came to the city in the 1870s and at that time it already had a church and school community as well as a few farms. Long commutes are common since Dallas is the nearest large city, but the cost of living is surprisingly high as well, it’s a bit above the national average. Citizens of Scurry mostly vote Republican.
